2026 Mazda
CX-90

Since introducing the CX-90 for model year 2024, Mazda has taken a different approach with its flagship crossover. While many automakers have reduced the cylinder count in their powerplants, the 2026 Mazda CX-90 boasts robust six-cylinder power enhanced with a turbocharger. The result is a three-row family hauler that produces up to 340 horsepower along with a zero-to-60 mph time as quick as 6.3 seconds.

Mazda has broadened the CX-90 lineup for 2026 with the introduction of the 3.3 Turbo S Premium Sport, a new trim that pairs the higher-output powerplant with additional luxury features. They’ve also added driver attention monitoring on higher trims, made Alexa Built-in standard across the range, and expanded the paint palette with Polymetal Gray Metallic. There’s also a plug-in hybrid variant, the CX-90 PHEV, which we cover separately.

Trims and Powertrains

The 2026 Mazda CX-90 comes in six trim packages: 3.3 Turbo Select, 3.3 Turbo Preferred, Turbo Premium Sport, Turbo Premium Plus, Turbo S Premium Sport, and Turbo S Premium Plus. The majority of them have all-wheel drive (AWD) and a 280-horsepower turbocharged 3.3-liter inline six-cylinder engine enhanced with a mild hybrid system. The Turbo S Premium Sport and Turbo S Premium Plus have an enhanced version that produces 319 hp, or 340 hp with premium gasoline. Every trim gets an eight-speed automatic transmission with steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters.

The EPA-estimated fuel economy for the base engine is 24 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway. The upgraded engine returns the same highway rating but achieves 23 mpg around town. Towing capacity is 3,500 pounds for the Turbo Select and Turbo Preferred, but that increases to 5,000 pounds for the higher trims. Depending on the seating configuration, some versions have slightly more cargo space. The cargo capacity starts at 14.9 cubic feet behind the third row, rising to 40.0 cubic feet when the third row is folded down. Behind the first row, the CX-90 offers 74.2 cubic feet.
