2020 Mazda MX-5 Miata for Sale in West Springfield, MA
For generations, Mazda’s MX-5 Miata has remained one of the most prolific lightweight convertible coupes on the market. With its zippy performance, precise handling, and optimized weight distribution, it’s no wonder drivers have come to adore it so much. It’s upheld a reputation for being “more car” than its sticker price would make you think you’re getting – and that’s a very good thing for Miata buyers.
The supremely aerodynamic Mazda MX-5 Miata traces its origins back to 1989, when it was unveiled at the Chicago Auto Show. Fast forward to 2020, and the Mazda MX-5 Miata still attracts eager buyers, thanks to some much-needed updates that only enhance this acclaimed roadster’s established appeal. These updates include the standardization of Mazda’s i-Activsense suite of advanced driver aids for every trim level, new badging for a 21st-century look, new interior and exterior color schemes, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity (on the Club and Grand Touring trims).
Trims and Powertrain
The 2020 Mazda MX-5 Miata is made in three versions: the Sport, Club, and Grand Touring. Each is driven by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 181 horsepower and 151 lb.-ft. of torque. This is an unusual car these days, especially for a Japanese vehicle, in that a six-speed manual transmission comes standard (a six-speed automatic is optional) and it has a rear-wheel drivetrain. The 2020 MX-5 Miata returns an efficient 26 mpg in the city and 34 mpg on the highway with the manual transmission. With the automatic, fuel returns improve slightly to 26 city/35 highway.
Comfort and Convenience
Given this two-seater’s sport-focused nature, it’s not exactly stacked with ultra-premium amenities, but that’s not to say it lacks desirable equipment. The Sport and Club trims are outfitted with LED headlights and taillights, Mazda Advanced Keyless Entry, a rearview camera, push-button ignition, and leather wrapping on the steering wheel, shifter knob, and parking brake. The range-topping Grand Touring adds automatic headlights, rain-sensing windshield wipers, auto-dimming driver’s side and rearview mirrors, automatic climate control, and leather-upholstered heated seats.
Safety and Technology
As mentioned in the intro, all versions of the 2020 Mazda MX-5 Miata receive the i-Activsense suite of driver-assist technologies. This includes lane departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. Each trim also gets an E911 automatic emergency notification system that informs emergency personnel of your location in the event of an accident where you or the other individual in the vehicle are unable to communicate.
The base infotainment system in the Sport has a 7-inch touchscreen, Mazda Connect infotainment and voice commands, a six-speaker audio setup, Bluetooth hands-free and audio streaming, HD radio, and a USB audio input jack. The Club is enhanced with a nine-speaker Bose audio system, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, satellite radio, auxiliary audio input jacks, and two USB data ports. Reaching the top of the trim ladder with the Grand Touring will let you enjoy added subscription services for SiriusXM satellite radio, which includes traffic, weather, sports, fuel prices, and parking information.
