There are several reasons why the 2021 Mazda CX-5 is such a standout in its class. Mazda CX-5 Trim Levels
The 2021 Mazda CX-5 is sold in seven trim levels: Sport, Touring, Carbon Edition, Carbon Edition Turbo, Grand Touring, Grand Touring Reserve, and Signature. All trims except for the Carbon Edition Turbo have a 187 horsepower 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine The Carbon Edition Turbo gets a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 227 hp (250 hp with premium fuel).
Both engines are matched to a six-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard for all but the Grand Touring Reserve and Signature, which get all-wheel drive; AWD is optional for the others. According to EPA estimates, the FWD non-turbo models return 25 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway, whereas the AWD non-turbo ones achieve 24 city/30 highway. The FWD turbo models get 23 city/28 highway, while the AWD ones return 22 city/27 highway.
Sport and Touring
The Sport trim comes with a broad slate of standard features, highlighted by 17-inch wheels, LED headlights, side mirrors with turn-signal indicators, rain-sensing wipers, keyless entry and push-button ignition, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and gear selector, a 40/20/40 split one-touch fold-down and reclining rear seatback, a rearview camera, an infotainment system with a 10.25-inch display, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth connectivity, a four-speaker audio system, HD radio, 12-volt power outlets, and dual USB ports. It also includes forward collision mitigation, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, automatic high beams, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, and adaptive cruise control.
The Touring adds dual-zone automatic climate control, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, heated front seats, simulated-leather upholstery, rear air vents, a rear armrest, and a six-speaker audio system. A Preferred SV Package is available and will add a moonroof, a power liftgate, an auto-dimming rearview mirror with HomeLink, memory functions for the driver’s seat, a power-adjustable front passenger’s seat, leather upholstery, and a premium 10-speaker Bose audio system.
Carbon Edition and Carbon Edition Turbo
The Carbon Edition gets an exclusive gray paint color, 19-inch wheels with a black-metallic finish, a unique black grille, black interior and door panel trim, and dual USB ports. The Carbon Edition Turbo has the more robust turbocharged engine and gets special Turbo badging.
Grand Touring and Grand Touring Reserve
The Grand Touring is equipped similarly to the Touring, but it also gets the contents of the Preferred SV Package, plus silver 19-inch wheels, LED fog lights, adaptive headlights, heated side mirrors, steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters, a digital gauge cluster, and satellite radio. A GT Premium Package is available to add automatic power-folding side mirrors, a head-up display, a windshield wiper de-icer, a heated steering wheel, ventilated front seats, and heated rear seats. The Grand Touring Reserve is loaded with the features from the GT Premium Package and comes with the turbocharged engine and standard AWD (Turbo and AWD badges are provided as well).
Signature Trim
The top-of-the-line Signature is loaded with special features for luxury, safety, and aesthetics.
