Mazda offers a deep bench of 2025 Mazda3 Sedan trims: 2.5 S, 2.5 S Select Sport, 2.5 Preferred Package, 2.5 S Carbon Edition, 2.5 Carbon Turbo, and 2.5 Turbo Premium Plus Package. Most grades have a 191-horsepower 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine under the hood. However, the top two trims wear a Turbo badge and benefit from the same engine but with forced-air induction enabling 227 or 250 horsepower (using 87 or 93 octane gasoline). Front-wheel drive (FWD) is the standard configuration for most 2025 Mazda3 Sedan trims, but the 2.5 S Carbon Edition, 2.5 Carbon Turbo, and 2.5 Turbo Premium Plus Package have all-wheel drive (AWD). A six-speed automatic transmission manages either drivetrain.
The base engine with FWD is EPA-rated to return 27 mpg in the city and 37 mpg on the highway (which changes to 26 city/35 highway with AWD). The turbocharged/AWD pairing has an estimated fuel economy of 23 mpg around town and 32 mpg on the open road. The trunk has a cargo capacity of 13.2 cubic feet.
The 2.5 S focuses on essentials, like fabric upholstery, LED headlights with auto on/off, manual air conditioning, a 7-inch driver display, remote keyless entry, push-button start, a 60/40-split folding rear seat, two USB ports, and 16-inch aluminum alloy wheels. The 2.5 S Select Sport brings leatherette upholstery, dual-zone automatic climate control, proximity keyless entry, heated side mirrors, rain-sensing windshield wipers, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, an overhead console, rear air-conditioning vents, a rear seat armrest with cupholders, and 18-inch alloy wheels.
The 2.5 Preferred Package gets some more upscale features, such as a power moonroof, heated front seats, an eight-way power driver’s seat, a driver’s position memory system, heated power side mirrors with tilt-in-reverse, wireless device charging, and unique exterior treatments. The 2.5 S Carbon Edition goes one step further with exclusive red leather upholstery, Polymetal Gray paint, and black-finished heated side mirrors. The 2.5 Carbon Turbo trim expands on the S Preferred Package’s attributes with terracotta leatherette upholstery, Zircon Sand paint, and unique interior and exterior accents. The 2.5 Turbo Premium Plus Package is the ultimate Mazda3 Sedan. It gets leather upholstery, a heated steering wheel, a head-up display, steering-responsive headlights, signature LED exterior lighting, and an auto-dimming exterior mirror on the driver’s side.
The 2025 Mazda3 Sedan’s standard advanced driver aids include forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, rear door alert, and driver attention alert. The 2.5 Turbo Premium Plus Package also gets a surround-view monitor, rear automatic braking with cross-traffic support, traffic jam assist, traffic sign recognition, and front and rear parking sensors. An array of airbags is also included, along with a rearview monitor, anti-lock brakes, stability control, traction control, and hill launch assist with auto hold.
Infotainment happens through an 8.8-inch central display and is controlled via a convenient rotary dial on the center console. This system supports Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and Bluetooth. Mazda Connect comes standard to provide access to connected services, emergency notification, voice command, Pandora internet radio, and text messaging support. The 2.5 Carbon Turbo and 2.5 Turbo Premium Plus Package have a 10.25-inch display that adds Apple CarPlay and Android Auto touchscreen functionality. All trims except the base 2.5 S have Amazon Alexa Built-In.
A six-speaker audio system includes the 2.5 S, 2.5 S Select Sport, and 2.5 Preferred Package, while the 2.5 S Carbon Edition and 2.5 Carbon Turbo have eight speakers. The 2.5 Carbon Edition and above also get wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Other upgrades for the 2.5 Turbo Premium Plus include navigation, a 12-speaker Bose audio system, and SiriusXM satellite radio.
