The 2025 Mazda CX-70 is a five-passenger midsized crossover available in five trims: Preferred, Premium, Premium Plus, S Premium, and S Premium Plus. Under the hood, it features a turbocharged 3.3-liter mild-hybrid inline 6-cylinder that puts out 280 horsepower and 332 lb.-ft. of torque. The S Premium and S Premium Plus get a modified version of the engine that churns out more: 340 hp and 369 lb.-ft. of torque. Each trim comes with an eight-speed automatic transmission and an all-wheel-drivetrain (AWD). Towing is robust as well, with almost all trims capable of pulling up to 5,000 pounds, except for the Preferred, which has a maximum towing capacity of 3,500 pounds.
According to EPA estimates, the trims with the base engine achieve 24 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway, while those designated with S (for the upgraded engine) return 23 mpg city/28 mpg highway.
The Preferred is equipped with the likes of a moonroof, a power liftgate, rain-sensing windshield wipers, proximity keyless entry, heated power-adjustable side mirrors with built-in LED turn signals, roof rails, automatic on/off LED headlights, LED daytime running lights and taillights, rear privacy glass, and 19-inch aluminum-alloy wheels. Inside, it has leather upholstery, a leather-wrapped tilt-and-telescopic steering wheel with paddle shifters, a leather-wrapped shift knob, heated power-adjustable front seats, tri-zone automatic climate control, push-button start, a 60/40-split folding rear seatback, and retractable second-row window shades. Notable tech features include a wireless phone charger, a 7-inch LCD meter display, and multiple USB-C ports.
The Premium adds position memory for the driver’s seat, a frameless auto-dimming rearview mirror with HomeLink, a head-up display, a hands-free liftgate, and 21-inch aluminum-alloy wheels. Meanwhile, the Premium Plus enhances luxury with Nappa leather upholstery, ventilated front seats, heated second-row seats, a heated steering wheel, power-folding side mirrors with driver’s-side auto-dimming, a windshield wiper de-icer, and a 150-watt power outlet.
The S Premium doesn’t get the windshield wiper de-icer or 150-watt power outlet, but it gains the more powerful turbocharged 3.3-liter I-6 engine, enhanced side mirrors (power-folding, driver’s-side auto-dimming, and reverse gear tilt-down), a power tilt-and-telescopic steering wheel, position memory settings, an adaptive front lighting system, and signature LED headlights. In addition to returning the windshield wiper de-icer and 150-watt outlet, the S Premium Plus tops the range with tan quilted Nappa leather upholstery.

The Premium Plus and higher trims receive a surround-view monitor with see-through and hitch view, reverse automatic emergency braking, and front cross-traffic alert. The S Premium and S Premium Plus are bolstered by active driver monitoring and reverse pedestrian detection.
