The 2025 Mazda CX-50 is a rugged yet refined two-row crossover available in seven trims: 2.5 S Select, 2.5 S Preferred, 2.5 S Premium, 2.5 S Premium Plus, 2.5 Turbo Meridian Edition, 2.5 Turbo Premium, and 2.5 Turbo Premium Plus. The 2.5 S trims are equipped with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that puts out 185 hp and 185 lb.-ft. of torque. The engine upgrade in the Turbo trims is a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that generates up to 256 hp and 320 lb.-ft. of torque. Both engines are paired with a six-speed automatic transmission and a standard all-wheel drivetrain.
The non-turbo models achieve an EPA-estimated 25 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway, while the turbo grades get 23 mpg city/29 mpg highway. The 2025 Mazda CX-50 can also tow up to 3,500 pounds with the turbocharged engine and 2,000 pounds with the non-turbo engine.
The 2025 Mazda CX-50 comes loaded with premium amenities. The 2.5 Turbo Premium retains the 2.5 Turbo Meridian Edition’s features but excludes the unique exterior graphics and all-terrain tires, while also adding a head-up display. The top-level 2.5 Turbo Premium Plus stands out with a frameless auto-dimming rearview mirror and an auto-dimming driver’s-side mirror.
