There are three trim packages for the 2025 Mazda CX-50 Hybrid – Preferred, Premium, and Premium Plus – all of which get an all-wheel drivetrain. With support from the electric motor, the 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine produces 219 horsepower; an electronically controlled continuously variable transmission (CVT) completes the major mechanical picture. The EPA-estimated fuel economy is 39 mpg in the city and 37 mpg on the highway. Towing capacity reaches up to 1,500 pounds with the proper equipment. The CX-50 Preferred goes beyond entry-level status with its nice list of standard features, including a wireless device charger, automatic LED headlights, proximity keyless entry, upholstery in a blend of fabric and leatherette, heated front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, a power tailgate, an eight-way power driver’s seat, roof rails, heated side mirrors with integrated turn signals, and automatic rain-sensing windshield wipers. This trim also has a 7-inch driver information display, push-button start, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and gear selector, rear privacy glass, a tilt-and-telescopic steering column, four USB ports (two per row), a windshield wiper de-icer, cruise control, and 17-inch alloy wheels.
The Premium adds a power moonroof, leather upholstery, a six-way power front passenger seat, a driver’s memory system, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. The Premium Plus takes things further upscale with heated and ventilated front seats, a head-up display, and 19-inch alloy wheels.
The latest in driver support technology is installed in every 2025 Mazda CX-50. The standard features consist of forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, emergency lane-keeping with road keep assist, adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams, rear seat alert, driver attention alert, and vehicle exit warning.
