New Mazda 2023 Mazda CX-50 for Sale in Springfield, MA

Overview
A higher level of trail readiness sets apart the all-new 2023 Mazda CX-50 from most of the compact crossover crowd. This exclusively North American model is similar in many ways to the flagship CX-5, but it effectively distinguishes itself with off-road-ready features that outdoorsy types will no doubt appreciate. The differentiators are standard i-Activ all-wheel drive, selectable drive modes suited to various terrain and towing situations, a lengthened cargo area for easy stowing and removal of gear, and heavy-duty roof rails made to support higher-weight items, including rooftop tents.
Mazda knows a thing or two about style, and that’s not about to change with this new off-road-ready crossover. Sure, it’s designed to rip through muddy trails and navigate challenging terrain, but the 2023 Mazda CX-50 also stays true to the automaker’s signature Kodo design philosophy. This debuting utility vehicle also captures the essence of outdoor ruggedness while doubling down on sophistication with assets that complement each other: a wide stance, a muscular front-end with a sporty black mesh grille and thin LED headlights, and aggressive wheel arches enveloped in black cladding.
The interior exhibits Mazda’s trademark upscale treatment, with exceptionally comfortable seating for five passengers. The minimalistic dashboard houses a very nice multimedia touchscreen, a modern digital instrument cluster, and rectangular air vents that work well within the refined interior. The seating materials have been inspired by the durable fabric of hiking backpacks to enhance the 2023 Mazda CX-50’s kinship to nature. Furthering this connection to the outdoor world are the available panoramic sunroof – the first one Mazda has offered – and vibrant terra cotta seat color.
Trim Levels and Powertrains
The 2023 Mazda CX-50 is offered in nine trim levels: 2.5 S, 2.5 S Select, 2.5 S Preferred, 2.5 S Preferred Plus, 2.5 S Premium, 2.5 S Premium Plus, 2.5 Turbo, 2.5 Turbo Premium, and 2.5 Turbo Premium Plus (the 2.5 S Preferred and 2.5 S Preferred Plus will be available later in 2022). A Meridian Edition is coming with late availability, too, with all-terrain tires, side rocker and headlight garnishes, exclusive hood graphics, and blacked-out wheels.
Most trims get a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine making 187 hp and 186 lb.-ft. of torque. All trims with the Turbo designation have a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder that produces 227 hp and 310 lb.-ft. of torque with regular fuel and 256 hp and 320 lb.-ft. of torque with premium. A six-speed automatic transmission with an engaging manual shift mode and all-wheel drive completes both powertrains. The towing capacity for the non-turbo versions caps at 2,000 pounds, while the turbos can pull as much as 3,500 lb. As far as fuel economy, the non-turbo 2023 Mazda CX-50s return an EPA-estimated 24 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway, which dips an increment to 23 city/29 highway for the turbos.
