New Mazda 2020 Mazda CX-9 for Sale in Springfield, MA
Premium quality at an affordable price is just one of Mazda’s strong points, and the 2020 Mazda CX-9 is another shining example of that. This three-row SUV, which can seat up to seven in its well-appointed cabin, is exceptionally equipped and affordable. For the new model year, all trims now get Mazda’s suite of safety technologies, known as i-Activsense, along with plenty of other features that competing automakers tend to reserve for their higher trim levels. For this model year, the Touring, Grand Touring, and Signature grades get a larger infotainment system touchscreen as well as power-adjustable second-row seats. There’s also a new optional package for the Touring and Grand Touring which adds second-row captain’s chairs, a feature that comes standard on the Signature trim.
Trims and Powertrain
There are four trim levels offered for the 2020 Mazda CX-9: the Sport, Touring, Grand Touring, and Signature. Under the hood of each is a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that yields 250 horsepower and 320 pounds-feet of torque when it’s burning 93 octane gasoline (it can also run on regular-grade gas, but with a slight dip in horsepower). All trims get a six-speed automatic transmission; front-wheel drive is standard on the Sport, Touring, and Grand Touring, but all-wheel drive is optional. The Signature, however, is exclusively made with all-wheel drive. The maximum towing capacity is 3,500 lb.
Comfort and Convenience
The Sport comes with a nice set of standard features, such as LED headlights and taillights, heated side mirrors, rear privacy glass, rain-sensing wipers, tri-zone automatic climate control, heated front seats, a power driver’s seat, 60/40 split fold-down and reclining second-row seats, 50/50 split fold-down third-row seats, push-button start, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob. Upgrades to the Touring include a power liftgate, leather-trimmed seating, a power-adjustable passenger’s seat, and keyless entry and ignition. The Grand Touring adds a sunroof, LED fog lights, automatic power-folding side mirrors, a hands-free liftgate, aluminum roof rails, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, memory functions for the driver’s seat, ventilated front seats, heated second-row seats, a heated steering wheel, and front and rear parking sensors. Upscale amenities are heaped onto the Signature with premium Nappa leather seating, second-row captain’s chairs with a center console, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel with trim-specific stitching.
Safety and Technology
As mentioned, all versions of the 2020 Mazda CX-9 come equipped with the i-Activsense suite of active safety aids. These helpful technologies include blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, advanced Smart City brake support with pedestrian detection, automatic high beams, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, and adaptive cruise control. GPS-based E911 automatic emergency notification is also provided on all trims in the event of a situation where the occupants are unable to directly call first responders.
The Sport trim gets a multimedia system with a 7-inch touchscreen, voice recognition functionality, Bluetooth hands-free capability, and two USB ports; the Touring adds Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and upgrades to a 9-inch touchscreen. The Grand Touring and Signature trims get a premium 12-speaker Bose audio system, integrated navigation, satellite radio, dual third-row USB ports, and a 360-degree camera system.
