2019 Mazda6 in West Springfield
The latest version of the deservedly popular Mazda6 is sure to turn heads everywhere it goes. With one of the most sophisticated and attractive designs within the midsized sedan segment, it’s a leader in terms of style and available luxury. If you’re interested in all that the Mazda6 has to offer, you can get your hands on one of its five trims: Sport, Touring, Grand Touring, Grand Touring Reserve, and Signature, each providing something unique for the driver. The Sport and Touring trims come equipped with a standard 2.5-liter 187 horsepower four-cylinder, while the Grand Touring and above trims get a 250 hp turbocharged four-cylinder. Both engines are paired to the same six-speed automatic transmission, but the turbo trims get the bonus of steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters for a more engaging driving experience.
Comfort and Convenience
The base-level Sport includes standard push-button ignition, 60/40 split-folding rear seats, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel; the Touring adds a sunroof, proximity keyless entry, simulated leather upholstery, heated front seats, and a power-adjustable driver’s seat. The Grand Touring has the upgraded turbo engine along with auto-dimming rearview and driver-side mirrors; the exterior mirrors are also heated to keep them clear in winter. The luxury factor ramps up with the Grand Touring Reserve, with its heated steering wheel, power-adjustable front passenger seat, driver-seat memory functions, and leather seating arrangements with ventilation for the front row and heating for the rear. Opting for the fully loaded Signature trim will spoil you with premium materials for the interior, such as microfiber suede, wood, and silver-tone finishes on many of the controls, upgraded leather trim, LED interior lighting, and a frameless rearview mirror.
Safety & Technology
All trim levels get Mazda’s i-Activsense suite of advanced safety features, which includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, and lane keeping assist. Other standard active safety technology includes blind-spot monitoring, a rearview camera, and rear cross-traffic alert, plus the G-Vectoring Control Plus stability system.
The Mazda6 Sport gets an 8-inch (quite large for a base trim) touchscreen infotainment system, which is controlled by an intuitive rotary knob and includes Bluetooth hands-free, a USB port, and a six-speaker audio system. Moving up to the Touring will get you Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, as well as two USB charging ports in the center armrest for the rear passengers. The Grand Touring adds an upgraded infotainment system as well as an 11-speaker audio system with satellite radio. Stepping up to the Grand Touring Reserve gives you a heads-up display above the gauge cluster that shows useful information such as traffic signs and your current speed. The high-end Signature trim has even more amenities: a digital gauge cluster, a surround-view camera system with front and rear parking sensors, and a navigation system.
